I think the reclusive GVG was discussed by people who know and/or met him within the Ausssie section of the ten-tenths.com motorsports forum. From memory there are a couple of mentions of car and man so try a search in there (membership not required)

I still remember the stunning impact that car had at the time .. then silence and it disappeared
