A friend of mine died.

Every so often, maybe once a week or so, me and some friends go to a place called ignite. Ignite is techincally a computer cafe, but it is geered towards video games. WE site there, drinking energy drinks, and playing CS.

I have made many good friends there. I walked in today, and found out, that a good friend of mine, someone a few years younger than me, Michael Kalenik was his name, had died.

They had a plaque that said, Will Miss you Mike, Ignite will never be the same again. I asked a guy what happend, apparently he died in a car accident, where another old guy died.

They say it was his fault, and even if it was, it sure as hell doesn't bring him back, this, really sucks. It just really #$%#ing sucks, I loved that dude.

damn, i'm sorry dude, that really sucks . Kind of puts things into perspective for me, actually, when these sort of things happen, because I know it could happen to me or someone I know. He sounds like a cool guy; he even wanted to have the same career as I do.

I've never had a person close to me die, but I can guess it would really make you feel depressed. My Condolences are going out to both of you.

Couldnt agree less.
Sorry to both you guys for your loss.
It would be easy to callously say the guy speeding was stupid etc etc and got what he deserved. He took out an innocent man (52 aint that old from my perspective) and ruined many lives as a result. But I have driven dangerously when I was younger. The difference is I was lucky. Generally you will get away with being stupid, dangerous or irresponsible more times than not. But it only takes the one time to kill of permanently injure you or someone else. When we do it we arent thinking of these consequences. When we get older we see our friends and others die like this. We miss them and wonder how we would feel if it it happened to a family member or that maybe it clould have happened to us. Some of us will find out unfortunately. None of my closest friends died that way but a few guys I hung out with from time to time did.
So I think posting the death of a dearly loved friend in a car forum full of young car enthusiasts is absolutely appropriate. If it is unsettling, unnerving or upsetting more the better. Might keep a few of us around a little longer.

couldnt agree more.
at the risk of soundin old, i used to drive fast n crazy as well. ive slowed down now, a lot. still do a silly thing once in a while, n m not sayin i drive slow or anythin, i dont, but ive lsot a few friends in car crashes, one was a guy who was 16 yrs old, good kid, he got hit by a cooper that wsa racing agaisnt sumbody else. body got mangles so badly, very few people saw anythin more than the face, coz his body was literally ripped apart.

m so sorry abt wat happened to both of u, and to any&everyone else who's lost anybody close to them in any way, but sum1 dying on the road coz of negligence/stupidity is really really tragic.

upcoming drivers: how wud u feel if a friend of ures died? dont drive stupidly, coz u mite end up takin sum1 elses friend away.
even worse, how wud you feel if you killed sumone on the road?
it isnt worth it, really isnt.

take care n peace out guys....
