I work in IT. From my experience, PCs can be repaired easily. rip it open and replace the bits.

MAC is throw away and get a new one if it breaks.

simple.

If it breaks at all Bluey, most Macs last a lot longer than PCs. And when they do break, just get the local Mac shop to get it up and running again

Yeah there are anti virus apps for macs but the only thing they do is catch PC viruses since there are exactly zero known viruses for Mac OS X. Dunno what you mean with "security". If you are talking firewalls, then yes there is ipfw built in (UNIX firewall, everything you can imagine can be finetuned in this firewall) and there are various applications that tell you about apps phoning home etc.

When hackers get bored and they do they will try mac,
And i really don't think they(Mac) will be ready for the wave if it hits hard.

No, It's not about "being bored" at all. If Apple's market share rises significantly then yes but there will never be "a wave" of hacking since the market share will rise slowly it won't change over night. And add to that that the OS X architecture is waaay harder to hack. Maybe not for experienced hackers but you can be sure that most script kiddies will never try to hack Macs.

The more someone says it harder to hack, Then the day gets closer to when someone will bring them to there knees. Hackers are driven by ego. If it can't be hacked they will see that as a challange and right now they might not be intrested but the day will come.
It only took 1 kid to bring the stock market to it's knees for a day. I seen this a wile ago on tv about how hackers got some big top dog who was almost untouchable, And as he said if a hacker wants in they will get in, If they are half decent.

There are a group of guys that can shut the internet down in 17 minutes by hacking specific servers world wide, I think they were from M.I.T. but I'm not sure.

It was on a tv show on the History Channel, might have been a special on MTV or discovery channel though. I'll search google for something about it.

I can't find anything about it though, I rember them presenting what they could do to the CIA and FBI after a kid hacked the Department of Defence database/server and was contacted by terrorists(it was traced back to al queda or what ever bin laden's group is) to buy weapons off of him, this was before 9/11 too.

Once again. Mac's are not as often hacked because of their incredibly low poulation compared to pc's. Lets say you are a soldier, (this is not the greatest anology, but close enough), you have one antie tank missile. Kill the single infantry guy out on his own, or the APC just about to unload a whole group? Simple, you would pick the bigger target.

That AND the fact that the base Mac OS install is secure compared to the base Windows install which rules out all the low profile hackers.
