Does it beep? If it doesn't beep like it used to (I'm presuming it used to because the vast majority of computers do) then the problem is probably a little further than the graphics card, it's probably the motherboard. When motherboards fry, they usually take the processors out with them, so don't go trying a different processor in it. You could take it to a repair shop and describe the issues, they'll have the proper equipment to troubleshoot things, or you could just take the opportunity to upgrade. Which is the usual response.

On one last attempt before i got in bed, i decided to remove one of the 512mb ram sticks, pressed ON and the pc worked! i then put the stick back in and it worked still! how random is that!? stupid pc...

Okay, well, here;s ome advice for the future.

Isolate the problem. Do your best to find out what is causing the problem. In this case, remove the graphics card and apply the monitor cable to the mobo integrated video (which, you hopefully have), and boot, then turn off, the put in the graphics card, then boot. If the computer fails to boot, then it's time to use the warranty.

The RAM shouldn't have anything to do with the monitor showing signals, the BIOS screen should show.

You could take it to a repair shop and describe the issues, they'll have the proper equipment to troubleshoot things,

NOOOO!!!! We computer technicians overcharge for things like these when it's generally just a unseated AGP card.

My computer has 2 graphics cards so i dont have this problem so Im really not experienced in this field.

You rich bastard....if you're telling the truth. SLI isn't used the same way RAID 0 is, thye rely on each other, so you should have, if not more, problems than the thread poster.
