Here in Australia, Proton is doing really badly so I think they're pulling out. I hate Protons anyway.

I think the suspension of the Staria GTI is made by Lotus, though it doesn't explain why the car is in America.

In the shed
Their suspension is apparently tuned by lotus and their cars arent bad but in Aus theyre trying to get into the already crowded small and mini car market. Looks like the n00b just couldnt get a foothold

Proton own Lotus (or at least a facet of what was once Lotus) so no surprises there

Their little Gen2 sedan is nicely styled in/out, great chassis but badly needs more herbs and better build quality Overpriced too, like most Protons

Overpriced? W00t?

How much is one in your country?

Rarely seen as Gen2 1.6 sedan cost is equal or more compared to other small sedans with more power & better brand-recognition .. such as Corolla 1.8, Nissan Pulsar 1.8, Civic 1.7, Holden Astra 'Classic' 1.8, Hyundai Elantra 2.0, Mitsu Lancer 2.0 etc

For your interest, a typical Gen2 review HERE

Despite being price-cut by around 25% IIRC due to literally almost zero sales, Proton Waja 1.6 sedan still costs more than Camry 2.4 or even Mitsu Magna 3.5 V6 (similar to Diamante)
