Anyways, I'll use an example to illustrate what I mean:
Take a word like 'phenomenal': here 'phaonmneal', the letters may have changed a bit but it still sound almost the same phonetically. Random? I think not. If i rearrange the letters truely: poeehnamnl, peahnomenl etc... the word becomes slightly less "readable".

There are more examples if someone doubts it, but I hope you get the picture. Of course this works perfectly when you mix up just a letter or two, or when the words are familiar... that's why spelling errors is hard to detect in your own text. But the "research" is made up and unfortunately not true. Almost all the words are "mixed" up so that it "sounds" the same when you read it to yourself.

i understand, my point was that the first and last letters have to be the same and in your examples they are. Also sure poeehnamnl and peahnomenl have different letters and sound slightly different but half of each word still sounds the same. So they arent completely random, they have to be similar in some ways inorder to work.
