Pamela Anderson was a big-time PETA member a little while ago, until she was on an episode of "Cribs", where she busted herself out and showed her closet full of fur coats.

Wow I never really liked PETA and now I have vaild reasons. I hope I hear someone start bitching about how animal testing sucks and I can say "Oh, if you like animals so much why do you support PETA who killed 1/3 of the animals it saved in one year?"

Couple of points to think over ...

PETA was painted it's worst by selection of information.

Penn is the Jeremy Clarkson of the magic world. Was good at magic and then found that being abrasive and controversial made him ( and teller ) more money

SOME of the medical treatment of animals WAS inappropriate and gave NO value. The evidence for that was huge, most of those cases in Europe were stopped YEARS ago. I can't say for the US In fact this year was the first year in many that animal testing in Europe INCREASED. P&Ts play on "ethical" was as extreme as Moore's on GWB Partially true but avoiding some contrary facts

300 years ago Edinburgh was one of the GREAT medical research centres in the world. Back then was when almost every medical procedure we use today was developed. It was learned by digging up cadavers of the newly dead and also by the MURDER of people to provide the medical schools with 'fresh' bodies to study. Would you use that to justify murder and digging up bodies NOW ? Penn's right to decrie PETA as it is just as short sighted, but I'd advise open-eyes-and-minds in debates in this area. I totally disagree that I would condone the extermination of a whole breed of animal to save one human. I would agree that there are times when animals come second, but that we should NOT do it for profit or in any endemic uncontrolled manner as we once did. ( Can you tell I once dated an animal activist and she's still insightful on what's going on in the "real" world - and for her that includes calling shame on those who take inappropriate action or act stupid like those idiots complaining that a shelter has to ultiamtely put down unwanted animals !!! )

does peta's policies extend world wide? because they only seem to harass western organisations


what i don't get is why peta wants to push there views and beliefs on to other people. they can believe what ever they want but don't force it on people who don't give a sh!t.

eventually they will go too far with there campaign against industry and end up getting sued,then that will be the end of them. hopefully

ALF was a big problem here for a while and has closed down a number of animal research and breeding centres in Scotland.
