Getting my drivers license, getting the race car straightened out, attending 2 track days and numberous autocrosses, getting accepted to college, going to several races over the summer, pretty much it.

actually its quite common to find 944's for that price, they just need a little TLC and are as good as new...theyve only made elises for something like 7 years now, the cheapest ive found is ~$30k, 10 times his last car

im with egg nog, are you stupid?

No, I'm not stupid. It's pretty obvious who was being a moron here.

An average deal on the 944 might've been $5000, still way less than 10% of the cost of the Lotus.

There are no old Elises here, there aren't even going to be new ones on the road for a few months.

are the prices youre talking about in CAD?

Come back down to Oregon; we have no sales tax and you can get them at MSRP. There are plenty around down here. Especially once the Exige gets here in a month or so.

Of course, the point was that I have nowhere near enough money to buy an Elise of any kind - Importing from the US is a good idea though, as Elises are far cheaper there. Even with the required changes to the car to be able to register it it is far cheaper to bring one in

Wow, that sounds like a great New Year's resolution: "This year I will become a beast!"
