AWD, 5-7sec 0-60, 7k AND roadworthy ? lol.

Come back when you get some insurance quotes and calculate how much money will go to waste in fuel.

Uhu and how much do you think the insurance on a quick Subaru will be ? They also guzzle fuel. Cheap subarus are also rather spartan and cheap looking IMHO. Especially the older models. And girls don't like spartan cars with hard suspensions and harsh acceleration

Indeed. I was looking to get an E36 too. It snows here quite a bit in winter and it gets icy, so I'd get some Michelin Pilot series all season or some other good all season tyres. I am not too sure on insurance though...

On insurance, a subaru with 200-250 or so horsepower, a 4cylinder under 3 litres and 4 doors won't be bad the only reason that they'll raise the prices on it is because of my age.

Please Canuck, do yourself a favour and ask for a quote at an insurance company for a car that you like (or a few cars), quotes are probably free anyway. And tell them that it's for a 17-18 y/o person who just got his license. The quote won't be "not that bad", it will be huge.
A Subaru will also probably be known as a serious sportcar by insurance companies because of their rally heritage. Which can only jack up the price.

lol it was less for an 1997 M3 2 door than a 05 WRX, but i did change one thing so that may have lowered the price.
