I agree, the "usual" 4.5 - 4.7% finnish beers taste much better than the strong ones IMO. And it's an ideal percentage for a couple of beers to be had as a beverige with barbecue or during/after sauna.

A Manhattan. (You may remember the "Make Legs a Manhattan" line from "The Simpsons" when Bart is making and serving drinks for the local gangsters of the Springfield Mafia. )

...and since I joined the discussion I guess I have to provide a recipe so why not a Sambuca related shot. Bull's eye: One part Sambuca and one part tomato juice, a hint of black pepper and few drops of tabasco sauce. Don't be prejudice about it, try it.
I don't know what the fuzz about strong beer is... Agreed that most brands from the US are close to water, but that's not because of their alcohol level, but their taste. Here in Finland, we are known for our strong beer, but again it's not the alcohol. Here you can pretty much find any kind of beer, from alcohol free to the strongest ones made and in my opinion ALL the best tasting ones are between 4 and 6%. If it wasn't for traditional reasons (for instance certain Belgian monastery beer brands have traditionally high alcohol levels) I really couldn't care less if +6% beers wasn't available... and I'm a man that enjoys his beer.
Well put.

Not when you're drinking in an Irish pub and they sell actual pints as well as schooners. Means you don't have to go to the bar as often
