I've seen their current video, it's ridiculously trippy, in a Windows-Movie-Maker-effects-kind-of-way.

Update:

Very very nice stuff ! It works a treat and seems perfectly suited for the photography I do most (ships coming into port). On a distance of 2 miles it still gets clear and sharp pictures. Macro is also quite good, tested from a distance of 20 meters and I can get a nice blurry background with a razorsharp subject. You'll see more in the comps soon I think !
Got the same for a Canon. Good for what you've said but focus is a bit slow for any action stuff.

Then get some training I really cannot complain about that actually, I found it rather fast actually. Never use auto-focus anyway so not an important factor for me at all. I never shoot anything automatically actually. Nor aperture/shutterspeed nor focus or anything..

Yeah, I find manual is much better to find the right settings you want for the picture.

You do realize that Macro is intended for auto focus on objects that are very close to the camera, not 20 metres away. What you are describing is DOF, which can be achieved by completely opening the aperture.

You are such a professional.

I love the album, it's an improvement over the last two. Saw her live the other day, which was even better.

Yes I do. But I am still getting to grips with it and only had 15 minutes of "play-time" with it yet.

NOT. Just don't see it much around me. Lots of people buy a SLR and just use auto-everything. 9/10 in our usual ship enthousiasts club shoots always auto.. Kind of useless IMO, though it reduces mistakes a little. It's just so much more fun to be honest and that's why I basically do it.

Then how can you come on here praising the Macro after a test shot 20 metres away? It makes no sense.

Edit: In fact it makes as much sense as telling Spastik that more practice will make the auto focus on his lens faster. That would make it the first lens that benefits from exercising.

Exercising their products is just the latest innovation of Sigma...

I do use manual controls frequently Drakkie....but with stuff like skate photography manual focus is quite cumbersome and means you can potentially miss out on good shots. I'm not an expert and theres probably something I can be doing better with it but more experience will help with that!

It's taking me a little while to warm to it. I was a huge Supernature fan, so it's likely its just the change in tempo and instrumentation that's thrown me.

She's meant to be a bit mental live, yeah?
