how is that bamboo tablet?
I was considering them as a gift, but another user told me the S4 has a much higher value for money.

Give me a couple of days. hasn't arrived yet. I bought it for it's multi-touch ability, which as far as I know is the only tablet with that feature. I hope to use it like a larger laptop track pad, but of course with my degree the pen is also a valuable feature.

Well, a few hours play and it is really good so far. Haven't had a decent time using the pen but using it like an oversized laptop track pad is quite nice. The multi-touch gestures are really nice, make navigating around really easy. Although I haven't used the pen much, the actual feel of it isn't as nice as my old Bamboo pen, but unfortunately they aren't compatible. I'll have a proper play with Photoshop and the brush tool today.

Biked to Target but took several wrong turns along the way. Bought some of the usual things like soap and kleenex, but I also picked up a mini-maglite. Black one was about 30 cents more so I splurged for that over the red one. Still, a rather large expense for a broke-ass college student such as myself. haha

There's an LED conversion kit for those that ThinkGeek used to stock (they don't seem to anymore) that's super effective. Made a huge difference to mine, but then.. mine is about 15 years old now.

My dad gave me a metalic blue one who knows how many years now. Awesome in the candle position.

It's probably over 8 years now.

+1. I didn't get it at ThinkGeek, I got mine at the checkout of Home Depot. My bulb had burnt out, even the extra one in the base. I didn't feel like buying an extra bulb so I got the conversion. Awesome. I left the stupid clicky button off though on the base. Since the conversion, I had only changed the batteries once. LEDs rock.

To expand on this a little for Leon, I have used it quite a lot now.
It is very nice to use with the pen, the performance is perfect and is definatly a worthy purchase. The only downside so far is the way Windows 7 kept sticking it's oar in. The pressure sensitivity wouldn't work all the time in Photoshop and I couldn't work out why. Someone on the Wacom forums suggested I removed the Windows Tablet Functionality via the Remove Programs bit and then to kill a Tablet process from the services menu. This lets the Wacom drivers have more control and results in a very responsive and enjoyable tablet experience.

Could it be better or are you seeing a downside to this?
