I wonder how much Cosworth actually did, though. Here in the States, they downplay Cosworth and claim that SVT did all the work, and in Europe they do the opposite. Some kind of marketing thing, of course, but it's never really been made clear to me who did how much of what development work on the car.

on a short 11min drive accross the village and then accross town and back, the A6 achieved 16.8MPG...

regularly getting down to 9l/100km (26mpg US 31MPG imp) from the 911 not bad for a 3.6L

Not quite as bad as 3.5 + leadfoot + 99% city driving I guess... (oh and it's the BMW. The Disco sits pretty proudly at 12.2l/100km)

Certainly. Also in the motorway having the aerodinamic properties of a brick doesn't help either...

As a result of this lately I've been trying to drive more economically, using the lowdown torque. That means going in sixth everywhere.
