Small Computer Problems

Just a couple very minor problems, but I can't seem to solve them.

For one part, my computer has a "phantom" A: drive. Before I shut the computer down, it says that I need to close the cover of drive before it shuts down. Biggest problem is, I don't have an A drive.

Secondly, I can't download any pictures while I'm in Firefox. It's fine Internet Explorer.

Any solutions to these problems?

for the A drive you could try disabling any floppy drives in device manager or their controllers in bios. Just speaking out loud..could be codswollop.

If Firefox is giving you grief i'd probably delete it and download it again.

the phantom A:drive is not something I can help you with - but disabling it in BIOS seems alright.

Well when I download pictures, the pictures just never show up. When I go into the previously downloaded files section under tools, it doesn't show up there either.

Try this:
1. Close Firefox
2. Locate the file downloads.rdf which should be somewhere along these lines:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_OWN_USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\SOME_RANDO...

3. Rename downloads.rdf to xdownloads.rdf
4. Start Firefox

Firefox should create a new downloads.rdf and you should be able to save your files again.
