Update- Saw Ronin, Great Escape, The Magnificent Seven, Dirty Harry, The Prestige, The Ghost In the Shell, and The French Connection.

All great movies.

My thoughts on them-

Ronin- awesome.
Great Escape- Ditto.
The Magnificent Seven- Same as above.
Dirty Harry- Real cool.
The Prestige- alright, great storyline.
The Ghost In the Shell- Gets you thinking about what's real and what's not- I recommend it for anime lovers- I can see the inspiration for The Matrix in this film.
The French Connection- Kinda slow, chase scene wasn't as great as I was expecting it would be, but still great.

Currently about 15 minutes into Pulp Fiction. I should like it though, since I liked Kill Bill 1 and 2.

For the future- still looking around for Le Mans.

I am in possession of Gone in 60 Seconds (original), Citizen Kane, The Seven Samurai and The Kingdom. I will be watching them soon.

Definately see "Death proof".
Also "Rendezvous" is another to add to that list NSX

NSX, if you wanna be a real man, watch Redline without cringing.

Only real men can handle listening to a song featuring car parts as sexual metaphors.

I'll turbocharge your engine if you turbocharge mine, hold me like a steering wheel.

Or you could watch A Scanner Darkly for the whoa-factor

Yuck. I can't even stand the trailer of Redline. I'll pass on that.

Never heard of Scanner Darkly. Maybe I'll take a look.

I just finished Pulp Fiction. I didn't like the first hour. It took too long to develop the Uma Thurman part. The second hour was awesome though, with Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis. Real badass.

And, any movie with a NSX in it is awesome.

Next up- Seven Samurai, by Akira Kurosawa.

I didn't see Seven Samurai yet. It's about 3 hours long. I'll probably watch it in sections. Too long for me.

I did see 2001: A Space Odyssey though.

Frankly, I didn't think it was that great. I really loved the parts with HAL 9000 interacting with the two scientists. Really creepy, especially with the way the computer speaks. The ending was really bizarre though. Is that how Stanley Kubrick does his films? I guess I should be prepared, since I'm thinking about watching The Shining next.

In my mind, that is one of the best movies ever made.

Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite is particularly stunning.

What the hell am I saying. Strauss's Thus Spake Zarathustra, the black monolith, The Blue Danube, Beethoven, the space docking.

That movie was one of the most visually impactual movies I have ever seen. The terrifying scene where Dave goes in the capsule and you only hear his breathing for like 5 minutes is terrifying.

"Open the pod bay door HAL."

Amazing. Masterpiece.

Anyways, watch Ronin. Car chases, Robert Deniro, Jean Reno - you can't go wrong.

Yeah, I do watch new movies as well. Nothing wrong with vintage ones.

Visually 2001 was great. I didn't know that they had special effects that were so perfect looking back in 1968. It didn't look cheap at all.

As I said before, I liked the parts where the scientists were interacting with HAL the best. The ending I didn't understand at all, though. But you're right, HAL is real scary.

I did watch Ronin. It was friggin awesome.

About 2001 a space odissey, i think theres a page on the net that tries to "explain" the movie.

I've had LeMans for about 2 years now, it's a good movie, but not a great movie, Bullit is better, but in both it's McQueen that does the movie wonders, a great actor, loved the great escape, that one is epic.

Good thing i saw this thread, great movie ideias...

I be downloading soon!

The end to 2001 is pretty confusing if you haven't read about it online or read the book. I, being too lazy to read the book, have read about it on Wikipedia.

Ronin is ballin'.

Now you have to see some Scorcesi. Goodfellas is absolutely amazing. Ditto Casino.

For something more recent, check out The Departed - he finally won best film and best director last year for it.

Leon the Profesisonal is pretty sick too - it's about a hitman that takes on a young girl (Natalie Portman) and teaches her the trade whilst wasting tons of guys.

Donnie Darko, Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, I can't even think. There are a lot of good movies.

Le Mans I have to look for.

Bullitt and The Great Escape are awesome though. The Magnificent Seven you should check out as well if you liked the other two movies. Contains lots of epic actors.

2001 I read a bit of it on Wikipedia. It doesn't mean that I understand it though.

Goodfellas I have. Casino I will check out. Funny enough, The Departed is a remake of a trio of Asian films. The series is called Infernal Affairs. I haven't watched them. I think my father has them, so I'll watch all 3 Infernal Affairs first and then take a look at The Departed.

The Professional, Donnie Darko, Apocalypse Now and Bland Runner I haven't seen at all.

Band Of Brothers I have and I am slowly going through it. The series is awesome, but the violence is too real to watch continuously, which explains why its taken me so long to finish it.

Saving Private Ryan was great too. I saw that a long time ago.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys and keep them coming!

Get the director's cut for Donnie Darko, but unless you are ready for like 3 and a half hours of movie, don't watch Apocalypse Now Redux, just the original.

I want to see Internal Affairs - I think The Departed got best adapted screenplay from it.

There's a whole sequel that tries to explain it. But in a nutshell, 2001 was basically Kubrick showing off the effects he could do.

The ending of that movie is so irritating.

The Departed is only made from the first Infernal Affairs movie, which I think is a superior film to that of The Departed. The ending is less Hollywood like....
