Yeah, the legend goes that he killed 21 men... one for each year of his life. In reality, he killed more like 8-9.

Wow so by that logic...

The Virginia tech shooter (Seung-Hui Cho) is an even bigger baddass outlaw having killed roughly 1.4 persons for every year of age. (he killed 32 and he was 23).

You're right, it doesn't make sense, but many murderers (outlaws) of the Old West were romanticized. You know, written up in newspapers of the time to where some admired them.

It is completely the opposite these days. Murderers like the Virginia tech shooter is admired by no one, except by other wackos.

Wild Bill Hickok?
I've read that he was one of the few gunfighters who engaged in an actual "showdown," a quick-draw shootout on a street in town.

I believe he died in 1876 (this from memory).

And I've also read that the fastest of those gunfighters could draw their gun and fire in 1/10th of one second. I once had my brother time me drawing a BB gun and firing and the best I could do was 2/10ths of one second.

Yeah, Hickok, he was probably the only REAL badass, mainly because he was probably the best squick draw shooter of era, i think of all time. Any thug can kill, thats why Billy the Kid, Jesse James, etc. werent shit...

That's cool.

Is it a scan or is that an original picture that you have of him?

Weird. What does this guy and cars have anything to do with each other?

That is a copy I made with a Xerox machine. Then I scanned the copy. I do have the photograph in one of the Old West books (The Gunfighters).

Well, if he was living about 100 years later, he would probably be a car fan. In fact, he would probably be stealing cars!
