I second that.

Congratulations to Robert Mugabe on taking one of the best countries with the most potential in Africa to one of the very worst in the world.

And congratulations to Thabo Mbeki in still trying to find some way of defending his best chum in the world.

A leader, good or bad, needs to inspire, conquer, have a common enemy that he shares with his people, and be unquestionable in their good judgement and knowledge.

A Good leader uses this to better those below him, by working for them, not the other way around.

A Bad leader uses this power to mould and manipulate to create something irrespective of need or desire - both his own and his people's.

well, IMHO anyway,

In an ideal world, there wouldn't be leaders needed as the sheep would be perfectly capable of leading themselves.

That will never happen though, so the next best thing would be someone who could lead by example and wouldn't need to resort to politics to get to the top.

That will never happen though, so the next best thing would be a person elected by the people, who actually listens to the people. And by that I mean not just the people who elected the person in question. Apart from just listening, the person would actually act on improving things based on what the people want.

That will never happen though, so the next best thing would be... ah nevermind.

What is classified as good and bad?

In retrospect, Hitler was a great leader with bad "vision".

Thats just it. The leader's actual outcome is irrelevant. what is relevant is the fact that their understanding and thus opinion on an issue is unquestionable and correct.

Right or wrong.
