Suggestions on what to do with...

An old engine.

Now you're all thinking "What the hell, stick it in a car!".

Story goes, me and a friend have bought an engine, just one from an old car that was going scrap, so we got it for nothing. It's nothing big, it's only a 1litre 4 Cylinder.

So we got the hands on full engine, gearbox and front radiator. We could sell it for parts but the cost over effort wouldnt match up. So we're going to do something a bit different.

I've seen coffee tables being made out of engines, but seems a bit old now. Suggestions so far have included a beer holder or something along those lines.

Open to any suggestions what so ever, it's not to make money, just something to do because we've got nothing else to do

Any suggestions?

I'd put it in a kart or something similar. It'd be ridiculously cool.

If not, take it all apart and use it for different things around the house, with different parts having different jobs. Or what you could do i polish it all up and put it in a glass frame in your floor

Lateral thinking ftw.

You could turn the pistons into really cool coffee mugs. (If they're big enough.) You'll get a nice set of four.

Or you could use the rods as posts for a lamp or something. Use your inner creative genious.

No. Selling for parts requires disassembling the engine and cleaning the parts. Selling for scrap requires the engine, and a scrapyard.

I'm with the Go-Kart idea.
When my dad was in his 20's him and a few mates built what they called the beast. They just got an old engine, gearbox and rad and welded it to four wheels. Drove it around fields untill it broke.

It's just something i've wanted to do for a while, but won't have the opportunity to do for a while yet. Ridiculously cool and would be so entertaining. Not many better uses.

At Badda: oh right, fair enough, Go-Kart is much cooler tho

Coffee table?

Clean it up really well, make a engine mount as an integral part of the legs of a table (out of metal) and then a glass top.
