Well you knew you weren't going to make it and it sounds like you did OK as far as keeping yourself safe.

Ouch. It could be plenty worse, though. Most importantly, you're okay. And if you're gonna drop a bike, a naked's probably one of the better ones to do it with. :-)

I've lately taken to hooning in kevlar-lined jeans and textile jacket, too. Never really sure it's a good idea, though. How did the jacket fair?

What's the black plastic on the floor? Bikini fairing?

Nasty... I feel your pain. Be more careful when you ride. Just remember, like what a lot of people here has already said, the bike can be replaced, but the bit of organic material sitting on it can't.

**** bro, riders worst nightmare. good to hear you survived the ordeal. Man motorbikes are so friggin dangerous no matter how good a rider you are, all of my mates have dropped their bikes - really does require a certain size of gonad

There's two kinds of motorcycle riders, the one's that have fell and the ones that are going to fall. The whole idea is to be prepared for the spill (i.e. all the gear all the time or ATGATT) which you were, so good for you. The bike will be take some time and money, but you are ok and that's what's important. Everytime I put my helmet on I say to myself that I'm exposing my life and that helps me ride on a composed manner.

Finally, experienced riders say that you can always lean a little bit more than you think, which might be counter intuitive, but you should consider next time.

Jacket's fine, didn't slide much, just a big hit on my shoulder. And the plastic bits are the screen, and the back of my speedo.

Hard luck, seems you pulled yourself out of it ohkay.

Lol I've done much worse on a dirt bike, completely bent the front forks running into a large (blind) bull rut, it wasn't that fun...

Bike has been assessed by the repair shop and insurance assessor, just waiting on the repairers to get the parts cost and pass them on to the insurance people, hopefully should know whether or not it's a write-off by the end of the week.

Which can come none to soon, as I've been offered a 748 for $9000
