Progress* Extreme NISMO 350Z

I had an idea to convert Tamiya's JGTC Z to an extreme tuned street version and to apply the NISMO color scheme. It will have stock interior from the 350Z street car and 4 rear tires from the stock Z.

The pic shows the body painted with Nissan Aluminum Metallic, various carbon decals cut for wing and interior, hood vents. Wheels are painted semi gloss black, interior with Acryl Interior Black and Guards Red. Decals are from Aoshima's NISMO R34 kit and the etch set is by Tamiya.

Here's a pic of the real car color scheme and my project.

Excellent! You always pull off these conversions precisely.

Thanks all!

Here's some of the process so far....toning down the body just a bit for street purposes I got rid of the racing fuel fillers on both sides then drilled a hole for a single one on the drivers side.

Also filled the slot on the front where the pull hook was and the air fitting hole, and the indentions in the rear 'window'. You'll notice the white body hood vents etc. are different because it's the Xavani car, the one I modded was the Calsonic body.

I second that.

What did you use to fill in the gaps on the hood and sides, etc?

I use a 2 part automotive body filler called Evercoat Eurosoft.

Have you ever made any dioramas to go with your cars? Like a model garage or pit lane or anything? I really like those kinda things. Just a thought.

A little update....interior is near completion, just have to install seatbelts and glue in seats. The dash and door panels have silver tweed weave carbon fiber and I cut some tread plate for the floor mats....just for a fun tuner look. I used Replicas and Miniatures etched 'Wizards O's' for gauge surrounds.

The silver carbon matches the car very well. Decided to use the wheels from the Aoshima NISMO R34 too, they are a bit larger in diameter than the racing rims and gives it more of a street NISMO look.
