Finished* Ferrari 250 Sperimentale

This is a 1/24 scale resin kit by Tecnomodel. The kit is better than my build shows....not my best work.

I saw this car last year at Amelia Island in this color/livery so I built it this way.

Porsche called, they want their ducktail back .

Very nice job on the model. It looks great.

BTW, did Porsche have a ducktail before 1961?

I'm guessing not? Maybe they are just more famous for it.

Wow, that's incredible! I never have the patience to build my own models. Even if I did, my clumsiness will certainly leave it ruined! Congrats!

Wow! This is great stuff!

Let's see how it stands up to my AE86 that's in the final stages!

So when you say that, I looked carefully for any flaws, but the only thing that seems a bit untidy is the left side lower fitting of the rear window frame......
I have been spending far too much time on shooting details of cars to be built, at the expense of actually building them....

It was my first experience with photo etch window frames which are flat and have to be formed to the window contours.

I didn't do a good enough job forming the metal plus the window material, which goes in the window opening before the photo etch frame, was a bit thick for the application. With my experience in general modeling I should have done better...so no excuses.

Apparently on the clouds
Overall good job IMO. To become very good perhaps needs some detailing according to the 1961 entry livery i.e.:
-Review Front and rear spoilers design.
-Add the three windscreen wipers.
-Tires o.diam. reduced
-Add side rear window round vent. device
-Door opening gap reduced
-Door lock size reduced
