Haven't seen it before, and contrary to almost everybody else here in the forum I have actually driven a Lada and spent many hours in various models while working in -Stan. They may not be the latest in technological development, but they are based on the Fiat 124, which in 1966 got the first ever title of European car of the year, and was also the car in which I did my license test in 1967. They are very sturdy, and everybody can repair them. Part of the official drivers license programme today is still to be able to repair certain parts of the car (also mandatory for women). Unofficially unfortunately licenses can be simply bought.

Ah... Lada...
I too had the "privilege" to learn to drive in one of these.
It was back in 1991 though. The car was VAZ 21013 from late 1970s.
Maybe my affection for Italians originates from there...

Cheers!

I am sure you called it a Zhiguli back then, or made independence also change that name into Lada?

Yes, you're right about Zhiguli.
If I'd talk about Zhiguli in UCP only very few would understand.
But nowadays one can buy only Ladas over here, officially Zhiguli badge is not used anymore.

Cheers!
