Alfa GTV Drawing

Here is a Alfa gtv I drew, based on one I took a picture of at Lime Rock this past fall. I did a few things to it, so its not really exact. CC is welcome.

You have some talent there indeed, and a great choice in motor to draw as well.

VERY nice job, but I don't appreciate you removing the Alfa grille.

It was a tough decision, but a lot of racers do that to preserver the chrome and the grill its self.

nice drawing.

re the grille - more to do with the fact that being an Alfa that the grille is made of reconsititued pepperoni pizza sprayed metallic and rusts to nothing in the slightest bad weather ??

Great drawing, IMO it is pretty exact. The perspective is great, that is a quality drawing.....

I usually draw with .35, .5 and .7 mechanical pencils. If you have an eraser stick, it will aid in adding details. I've added one of my sketches (i've posted this a while ago). Not perfect, the rear wheel is distorted.

The way I draw? Lets see. I basically see the image or picture i want to draw in 1 D, it might help imagining what you're drawing is not a car, more like an organic pattern. You just have to make sure everything is proportional. Start with one part and draw the other parts making sure the distance and size are proportional. You could use rulers or something straight to help to give some sense of distance, i usually use my pencil. I've found it pretty helpful to start with the dark areas first because they give you a relative shade to work on the other parts of the drawing.
