05 'Stang (Esp's way)

I just got back from central Florida....(no, I'm not dead mind you) and I don't think I ever want to go back. Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte is SO BORING/ Anyway, I worked on this Mustang design while there, so you better enjoy it.

I was at a total loss of what to do with this one at first, so I basically worked off the remake and the original...I started with this....

I liked some aspects of it, but not nearly many. It worked into this, which I now hate.

I decided, 'why not base it off the 1971 styling?' Which proved that all I was doing was either drawing a classic Mustang or the remake-nothing original.

I was so sick of those drawings, that I just let my hand flow freely around the paper to see what would happen. Still nothing. But it gave me a little hint of inspiration....

Then I had a stroke of inspiration-a GREAT idea....I saw this picture (http://www.tupeloautomuseum.com/imag..._1280x1024.jpg, and thought of how to reincorporate the cross grille and unusual rims....i sketched down a quick concept, without the rims at this point...

Then I sketched down an update-trying to do the rims. I realized that recreating the rims to fit the car, look good yet not tacky and be appealing was no easy task, as the sketch demonstrates...It did, however, set a framework for what I wanted my final design to look like.

I finally sketched out this. My baby. To me, everything is perfect, except the fact that with some rebadging it could be a Charger reincarnation.

Not your best drawing's, but considering they are 3d and you know my 3d drawing skills.......the design is great, and the drawing on the last one is very good. Let me guess, you rush your drafts kind of?

Exactly. Drafts don't matter. Once I get an idea down rough, I can polish it off. The problem with me is I can never jot down a perfect design and a perfect sketch 1st time. (the point of the draft to me is that iI can get an idea and nobody will ever see it, so I'm showing you some crappy drawings too...I'm only human.)
