Hope he (the owner) doesn`t crash it...
Braking allot of those smal mirrors would make him an unlucky man for manny years.. Isn`t it 7 years of unluck if you brake a mirror?? ![]() |

Now if it were one big chrome plate, it would look fantastic, but now it looks like a 356 made of broken glass.

That's cool, but it could blind other drivers.

These photos first surfaced in late 2003. As I recall, this car was offered for sale on Ebay in early 2004 for the asking price of around $300,000 USD.
Here's the story on the car and it's creator: History: The idea for this unique object was to create a singular art object about " historical automobiles" for a "Premium Classic Cars Event". This unusual object took 6 month to prepare and was presented in Graz / Austria in July 2003. This object reflects its environment in the context of a mobile, historical and cultural property in fascinating ways you have never seen before. The artist: Gustav Troger, a famous Austrian artist, international known with mirror objects and sculptures. born in 1951 in Kohlschwarz/Austria lives since 1989 in Los Angeles and Graz. since 1983 exhibitions in Graz, Vienna, Budapest, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Prague, Zagreb, Zuerich, Basel, Frankfurt, Munich u.v.a. Technical: Make: Porsche Model: 356 SC / 1600 Year of construction: 1964 Chassis Nr: 131821 Engine Nr: 716561 Color: Irish-green 6406 1 ( Original color) Interior equipment: Imitation leather black Restoration work done before artistic work: Body: Removal of all weak points, however without final lacquer finish Electronics: Wirings to a large extent renewed Engine: Complete overhaul - odometer reading after complete overhaul: 450 kilometers Brakes: Complete overhaul Tire & rims: renewed Interior equipment: good Condition ( all original) Technical total condition: good Artistic activities: All exterior painted surfaces including the dashboard are covered with mirrors. As material served commercial mirror glass, which was applied with a special industrial glue from the automobile industry. The durabilitiy of the mirrors have been road tested. The durability of the mirrors was although tested on several different art objects before. It took the artist 6 month ( February till July 2003) to finish this amazing work of art. You can probably find more info or an official site using the artists name: Gustav Troger The photos below show the artist at work. >8^) ER Last edited by Peloton25; 08-07-2005 at 07:03 PM.. |
