Porsche 997 Turbo?

Something weird has been going on... I got these pics off Autocar's website, and clearly they mention a "New Turbo" at the pics. These pics resemble quite closely spypics of the 997 Turbo. Yet, I can't find anything official of a 997 Turbo release anywhere, not even on UCP!!!

WTF?

Germancarfans have nothing, C&D have nothing, R&T have zilch but Autocar already have wallpapers of this?

How's this possible?

The New 997 Turbo has been released for media testing, chances are this is one of those models.

I also find it odd no press release has been issued regarding the car, but this is it.

Yeah it's weird, it does look like the official new Turbo, and the pics look pretty official too, not just spypics

This must rate as the first time I couldn't find anything on UCP about something I found somewhere else! Oh well, first time for everything I suppose...

Well as long as it looks good I don't care how strange it is in how you got the pictures.

You're 100% correct Canuck. I have the magazine as well.
If anyone wishes, I can type it up tomorrow and post the preview.

That'd be super F1_Master!

Just to clear up things, I'm not critisizing UCP, I just find it pretty weird that an official release of 997 Turbo photos seemingly flew beneath the radar of most carsites. Not even on Autocar do they lay claim of being the first (or one of the first) to have official undisguised photos of the new Turbo online.

Strange, very strange. I was expecting frontpage news on Germancarfans, Autoblog, C/D, R/T and all the rest, but hey if you happen to navigate to the pictures section on Autocar, SURPRISE!, here's the new 997 Turbo!

Alright, will do tomorrow when I get home. I won't have time tonight as I have to go somewhere in a few.

I should have it done and posted before I leave for the BOC concert.

There hasn't been a press release issued yet, so we've got nothing to post...
