Not likely. Bugatti has already lost enough money on the Veyron. VW wont put anymore money into Bugatti to produce another car. $4 million US is already being lost on each Veyron sold.

If this is any faster than the CCR, it'll destroy the Veyron. When the CCR ran at Nardo, it couldn't rev right out in top gear because of the extra force and friction from the banking, so it would've probably been faster than the 388 it hit

On the another well-known forum, I found this bit:
Sadly, the CCX will be the second fastest car in the world with the same top speed (388 km/h) as the CCR produced from its 806 bhp engine pushing the 2200 pound carbon fibre body. It goes 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds, and runs the standing quarter mile in just 9 seconds at 146 mph. The American-only CCX will only be sold in one location - Exotic Cars in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace Las Vegas has just been appointed the first and only dealer in the United States for its exclusive supercars. Exotic Cars at Caesars Palace currently displays more than 40 vehicles with prices in excess of US$1 million, including such exclusive lines as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bentley. Thousands of people visit the two-story, 34,000-square-foot showroom each day. Koenigsegg plans to deliver a limited number of cars during the first year, and orders are being taken on a first come, first served basis. The base price for this prestigious automobile is US$650,000. So basically, the CCX may only be the CCS for NA. Like the Infiniti G35/Nissan Skyline and others.

Found these two pics at another forum. Generated by the press or leaked from Koenigsegg? Imo the first is the most likely. Sure looks alot like the CCR, dosen't it?

Surely it has to look somewhat like the CCR, its not going to be radically different. Performance is what counts, minor changes in looks is all thats needed.
As regards to Bugatti vs Koenigsegg, I think the Bugattis had long enough in the lime-light to remain a strong contender, people will still remember the name, whereas the CCX will have its work cut out. Will it match the Bugatti on all counts, or just performance? The Veyron is very very good all-round, in power, handling, looks, interior etc (IMO)..... I quite like the Koenigseggs, they havent been loudly announcing the car, just quietly letting everyone realise that its a crazy fast car with some unique points of its own.....

Bugatti is classic german engineering though, start with some concept that's just not going to work and make it work......
