2008 VW Scirocco

Initially the Scirocco will mount the 1.4 TSI twin-charger engine in two versions (140 and 170 hp), the 2.0 TFSI (200 hp) and the 170 hp version of the 2.0 TDI turbodiesel engine. Later, in 2009, the Scirocco might get one or both of Volkswagen's VR6s (surely the Golf R32's 3.2 with 250 hp, maybe also the 3.6 with 280 hp). Last but not least, there's talk of a Scirocco R20, which might mount a 2.0 liters engine outputting 300 hp, either a bi-turbo or a twin-charger (there's some confusion about this engine, maybe it's the same one that is being bandied about for the sporty version of the next Audi TT).

As Auto Bild says, now it's Ford's and GM's turn, to resurrect their coupes from the seventies, and complete again the triad of german coupes: Ford Capri, Opel Manta and VW Scirocco ...

I almost cried when I saw those pictures. That's HIDEOUS!

I'm going to start praying that VW at least makes the damn thing look good, as well as perform well. I don't think I can take another ugly volkswagen.
