in the latest EVO they do this comparsion and even one between the differnet specs of mk3.
they reckon that the mk3 has no where near as exploitable chassis as the mk1 or 2. they also reckon that the 1.8 mk3 is a real handful with buckets of oversteer just when you least expect it. better look out for hairdressers going off right, left and centre ![]()

MkI had ~120 hp and the MkIII has more than 170, without too much of a weight penalty. Possibly the Mark 3 was showroom fresh, so the casting material on the tires hadn't even been burned off. Thus the spins?
