Ever whacked yourself in the face with a hammer whilst trying to pull nails out of really hard wood? That sucks

Maybe i was a bit too rude yesterday. My apologies on that. I hope you will enjoy your house for many years to come.

In my closest family we have quite some engineers. (especially my grandfather) always talks about wood being a inferior material to build houses and other things with. I might've been a bit too prejudiced. I've never been to the USA so i have no idea if the kinds of lumber (and the quality) are the same as here. Apart from old wooden sheds and stuff in the museum i have never seen a house or structure being constructed mostly of wood.

In Drakkie's defense one has to say that it is not uncommon on European to see the results of tornados which rampage through cities and villages made up of wooden constructions. What is left of those houses is mostly a sad heap of rubbish surrounded by its previous inhabitants which had just lost all their savings. I am sure that if the house had been made of proper bricks or concrete, the damage would have been far less.

Congrats on the new place Roy, looks like a really nice place. How much more room do you have for your diecasts now?

BTW, I await an egg-nog. I say stick a piece of paper over a faucet (closest thing I could think of to a gearstick) or something similar but then again we don't know that the interior you posted is actually the interior of the house you posted, since there's no standard interior, like there is with cars...hmm, where am I going with this? This is getting too complicated for 2am, just do as somebody said above and stick it over the chimney
