thanks, we thought so too... fyi, they took that white fridge with them, our new (black fridge) is being delivered on Saturday. The pic of the kitchen was taken with my old digi-cam and doesn't really capture the cabinets right... they are red stained (perfect for a "Ferrari Guy" ), so you can see the wood-grain though, I'll get some better pics this weekend when we move...

PS:

Just wondering,it seems to me the build quality is rather poor. Is that common across the pond ?

Any renovation plans?

Actually, it doesn't really look like it needs much at all from the pictures. You're a pretty small family at this point too.

Congrats man!

Edit: Drakkie, what do you mean? I've spent the better part of my life building things and the last 2 years solid building/renovating houses. What is it from the photos that makes you think it's not well-built?

Nice house! Looks like a large block of land from the pics...

not really any renovation plans at this point. It's pretty well finished. 4 bedroom, 2 & 1/2 bath, finished basement - so we've got room to "expand" the family (though we're really not looking to do that just yet)

As far as the build quality is concerned - not really sure what you're talking about. As part of the purchase process it had several inspections: Roof, Mechanical, and Structural. All of which were done by a state-board certified structural engineer... all of which passed with flying colors... I have no doubts that it's a sturdy house. It's been there 30 years, it'll pry be there at least another 30...

Im sure it is pretty good, but it seems pretty fragile to me... Im used to seeing everything out of stone or concrete over here. The wood in the houses seems a bit ehm, well fragile...

It's probably a cultural difference...

Yeah I think that's it. I also used to think it's fragile but I've seen some in Germany with a similar construction. But they are just good...

I wouldn't go so far as to call wood-frame construction fragile. Nor would I think that a house is of poor build quality because it is wood-frame construction. Most of the houses here are wood-frame, just the way it goes... However, if you're still not convinced you can come over and huff and puff and I'm sure you'll see that it won't blow over...

it's called hardwood for a reason having done many renovations i can testify at just how frigging hard it is. I suggest you find some and attempt to hammer a nail into it...

Congrats! It's a beautiful house with lots of space for your child to play and 2 garages: one for an Enzo and other for a 360CS. You think in everything!

We used to live in a house made entirely of wood, it was great. It allows the whole thing to flex a bit, which is good for storms and such. Not so good when it's a wooden floor and it's elevated a storey up, but some carpet took care of the drafts there.
