Best Motoring: Civic Type R

Pretty impressive performance by the Civic... although you can tell the driver is beating the $h*t out of it more than anybody else . Still, the handling seems fantastic for a FWD Sedan.

The S2000 driver sucks hardcore.

Civic Type R vs S2000 vs Integra Type R vs NSX-S vs 350Z

Wow... Yuji Ide found another job he can underperform at...

Anyway... for all the cynics, this is a pretty reliable source. Unlike Top Gear or even Fifth Gear, these drivers have some kind of professional racing experience.

You never know, maybe s15Silvia_Ala was right- maybe the NSX engine would go better in a Civic!

That was an awesome video. Genuinely impressed with the shopping trolley that had the supercar in check for a lot of the track, and also with the ancient supercar still ruling the roost!

However, what was the Integra driver doing? Those things are meant to be amazing on the track.

I liked the 350Z driver, he made me laugh. The kamikaze nature of the Civic driver was also endearing.

Liez. 1.8T> NSX engine

As I've said before- Yuji Ide was driving the Integra. Y'know, the guy who rolled Christian Albers and was #1 at underperforming. As for the Civic, that was Keiichi Tsuchiya- that guy could make any car behave nicely for him.

Actually, the Integra Type R I would expect to do better than the 350Z at least.

Honda did its job great with the Civic Type R saloon. They invested their time into it and it shows. Now if they could do that with the next NSX, then that'd be great.

Funny you say that, because he makes his living on drifting yet he's a great grip driver too.

Yeah, but I was referring to F1....

You also forgot Super GT racing too.

Damn, US magazines don't cover events like these. I've been living under the proverbial rock since Road and Track stopped covering F1 as much.

But that could explain why he kept spinning out in F1... The Super GT + drifting experience he gained wasn't suited for F1.

God the guys in the S2000 and 'Teg sucked pretty hard, especially the start from the 'Teg. And who short shifts a V-TEC Honda?

Thank you for posting that, Niko.

My Honda Civic is a quarter of a century old so obviously the car does not have a V-TEC.

V-TEC = Loss.

My father seems to like old Hondas too. He has a 1983 Accord.

To me, most Hondas are cool, no matter what the age.

How do you pronounce Tsukuba? I race this circuit in Forza & Gran Turismo all the time but I have never known how to say it.
