OK, let's assume for a minute that the asshole driving wasn't a kamikaze and he simply went round a corner wrong. Now judge the two cars. Smartass.

The black car has Moscow numberplates... I wouldn't be surprised if it was an R8 of some rich guy's son (daughter, lover viceversa). They never can drive...

EDIT: Oh, and I personally like 'kaboom' in the topic name

Ah but you see there lies the problem. You said: "assume"

We don't know how it crashed! so as far as we know he could have been a kamikaze

What were you guys talking? It's almost impossible to crash a car on public roads. I mean, out of own 'initiative'

How do you know it didn't rain until after the accident? The car may have been driving on dry pavement.

The sky's quite overcast, it looks like there's already a decent accumulation of rain, and the soil's wet enough to be muddy which suggests it's been raining for a while before the picture was taken. And judging by the lack of any emergency vehicles on the scene, it was taken shortly after the incident.

All signs point to a crash in the rain, on wet roads.

Not to mention you might struggle to point the car at the tree with the wet grass :P

There is one thing you are forgetting. They could have been speed ing and lost controlk. No electronics or R&D can help tha. It was probably speed, tryin to show off. (the tree one)

That sums up to: The R8 was specifically designed to point at trees in the wet, on grass.
