Car design drawing

I was just watching this new show, Overhaulin' and this fella was using some markers to draw up the designs. Are these special markers, or just normal markers?

They are Sanford PrismaColor Markers. Most art supply and craft stores carry them.

The pro ones are the AD Chartpak markers, very expensive: ~£5.00 a pen most places.
As used by Jaguar, Peugeot, and err.. me!

If you are planning on buying proper markers BUY SOME PROPER MARKER PAPER, otherwise anything else will suck the ink out, go straight through your paper, and anything beneath the sheet you are colouring, and shorten the life of the pen.

Someone tried to use some of mine on cartridge paper, you could all but hear the ink being sucked out.

Oh, and make sure your marker paper is the right way up.

Chartpak AD Markers

I used to go to Cov and found it really hard to get hold of the Chartpak pens once I'd left. Finally I found this place: http://www.refuelled.com/

They appear to do the full range of Chartpak markers and a few other bits. Not too expensive.

Dave.

For me, a more amateur car sketcher, I gave up on markers after a while because they were so astronomically expensive, but I have to admit, they were absolutely beautiful and fun to work with.
