The Chevrolet Volt-based Saab Fashionista?

What's with this Chevrolet Volt-based Saab Fashionista? Well, at this point, it's not a certainty that Saab or even parent company General Motors will still be in the car business in the year 2012, but let's not let that tidbit get in the way of an interesting concept car.

This car is authored by Mayeul Walser, a fourth year design student at Creapole-ESDI, the Saab Fashionista is a 2+2 sport coupe that is reportedly inspired by the designs of Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel. This concept is based on the underpinnings of the Chevrolet Volt that means there's a range-extended electric power train hiding under its shapely bodywork. Since it only exists on paper, Walser took some liberties by ditching the eco-friendly drivetrain's stock four-cylinder engine and replacing it with a more powerful V6.

Near the middle of the middle of middle England.
Is Saab not dead yet? I've always liked their recent concept cars too, even if not the names...

Saab is a great make IMO. Too bad they have such problems. I hope the name will be changed when (if) the car would come into production (not to 9-1 though).

Agreed.

Wheels are too small, and the design is just not minimalist enough to be Saab.

So all in all, pretty fail. Anyway, Saab isn't dead, they're "on the road to independence." (from Saab newsletter)

No(r)way.
Yeah, SAAB is under reconstruction. There are somewhere around 20 interested buyers of SAAB after completed reconstruction. The Norwegian state is one of them. They are under bankruptcy protection during the reconstruction.

It's not a real concept, just someone playing about... who obviously has no idea how the Volt drivetrain works. Putting a V6 in there would make it no faster.. the engine doesn't directly drive the wheels, it just charges the batteries.. If anything, it'd be slower due to weight.

I agree with all the previous negative comments. This simply doesn't cut it.

On the other hand I'd be great to see Saab back on form again after the dark GM days.

It looks like a futuristic CRX honestly. I think the shape is ok, but yeah fail on any application to reality. :P
