Matra A610 trackday clips

I've been asked a few times to show vids from track days and folsk have expressed interest in my cars.

Here's a short set of 4 clips from different trackdays at Knockhill.
I like the instruction from Tim in the car in pitlane
I'll post others, if anyone's interested, as I find the time to go through the vids and encode them.

Sure, post some more. What's wrong with the sound in the first clip after the turn? Your car sounds like a rocket.

And Peter.......please......we want to see the man behind the mask. I mean helmet!

I always find it exciting to see member's cars/pictures/videos.

I'll try convince my dad to A: Buy a Video Camera and B: Take his 4wd ute round manfield (the track in my town) now that would be funny

Seriously tho, nice car, but I don't like the design of the wheels that much. But you seem like a very good driver...

The car has standard exhaust with cat so it's not a lound car - I prefer thet, my bike is my "sound generator"
Also, the car is drifting all the way down the hill so I tihnk the main sound you're hearing is tyre squeal !!!

The car has a REAL Cd of 0.3 and the wheels are closed with small slots at the perimeter for cooling. Similar to Comp TLs. That was the "current" engineering input in 1991. Also it's French, so you expect "quirkiness"

The later A610s had a 5-spoke open wheel which IMHO is more 'modern' looking.

I want to keep this set as the "show set" and they're recently been refinished and are looking good.

But not having luck finding rims I like.
The later Renault rims are nice, but the same width as current and I think the car could be sweeter on track with a wee bit more rubber
unfortunately, it's an odd pitch and offset. So far only split rims are availalbe and I don't like any I've seen.

Can't argue with that

Parts are hard enough to get here in UK, never mind trying to track bits down in OZ

What would be cool is to get my friends dads mint condition Puggy 504 Station Wagon towing the Alpine. What a nice scene

1996
Long story
The car was originally given to the BBC by Renault UK to 'star' in the (crap) BBC soap Eldorado, set in Spain. After 2 years the show folded.
The BBC packed everything up and shippped it back to Spain.
Another 2 years pass and Renault ask about their car that was not returned.
They find it in a storage container in Southampton docks where it had sat since coming back.
A friend of mine was sales manager for Renault and heard about the car.
Knowing my interests he offered it to me before it went on their car system.
I drove it, fell in love with it ( scaring the salesman on the test drive ) and bought it.
It had less than 10,000 miles when I bought it.
It now has 20,000 miles and more than 50% of that is track time
See the attached vid to see the A610 "blown up" !!
