Richard Burns rally is also squaring up to be an awesome game. If their hype on the physics is delivered. this will be a cracking game.

colin

colin will always be better then WRC i think, it may not have the drivers or cars, but its WAY more fun. and not to mention the graphics dont repeat nearly as much as the WRC series

or the damage.... you know in wrc you fly off a cliff and smash into the next emankment you just get a tiny scratch, but then you co closer to the screen and realise that its just a bit of dust, and in cmr you do a little jump and the front is just hanging on by a bolt, now thats better

cmr is just plainly better........so far.

CMR handling has always been suspect and no sign that they are planning to change it.

Richard Burns developers describe a physics engine which suggests it will be MUCH better at reflecting the real experience.

ie CMR models the car as a box and the forces of the road are imparted on that box and it's motion modelled. The RB engine say they have modelled each individual spring and damper on EACH corner independantly. Also they have modelled the diffs, gearbox, engine components seperately. So over-revving the engine will cause 'damage' to valve springs and THAT is modelled on the engine performance and will cause mis-fire and lumpy high revs !! IF ( and it's a BIG if ) they can truly deliver that level of physics modelliung then their is a good chance of finally getting a rally car sim that gets close to the real world. It should be capable of properly 'hooking up' on the inside ditches to get round corners - somethign I find REALLY bad in CMR and totally UNrealistic.

For those who've played these games, you can go flat out across the Australian roads with little difficulty. In reallity, without constant clutch, brake, throttle and diff adjustments it's impossible to keep a rally car on the straight at high speed on a real track
