the 91-99 GS-T's and GSX's come with the 4g63 turbocharged engine, the GSX comes AWD. 2000+ come in either a I4 or V6 engine naturally aspired engines.

by the way, don't get an automatic if you plan on gettin a non-turbo version, car is about as slow as it can get compared to a manual.

as far as i know the 91-94 eclipse GSX are usually the best for modding, but the 95-99 are also good. seen those cars pushing 500hp at 24-27 psi, saw a dyno with 27psi and think 50 shot of nos making it to the 600's, but that is really pushing it, those engines can make 400fwhp safe though.(don't know if ya gotta change the internals though). but there's a lot of aftermarket for the GS-T and the GSX.

A guy I work with has a DSM Talon TSi. It's currently in his garage waiting for a new transmission. They're not the strongest tranny's. Upgrade that if you're going for lots of power.

twin-turbos on a I4....can be done but no, the eclipse comes single turbo. Greddy and HKSUSA sell stuff for the eclipse gs-t/gsx. there's a lot of other websites as well, Google is your friend there.
and yeah, you pretty much gotta upgrade the transmission as those are weak after some power.
