the giant wheels on the bigfoot came off of a land train constructed by/for the US army to use in Alaska. the train would travel across thousands of miles of snow and ice, and traverse all kinds of crazy terrain. when it was scrapped in the mid 1980s the boys at bigfoot inc. or what ever its called, got a hold of some wheels and tires. its been a showpiece, but hasnt been used in competition to my knowledge.
