Just out of curiosity, on what basis do you make this claim? In my opinion, the most interesting parts of the picture are the city scene and the mountainous background. The viewer isn't allowed to take these in, however, because it's so difficult to draw ones eye from the plume of water coming from the fountain. A focal point is important for a picture like that to work, but here it detracts to heavily from the rest of the image.

Just my tuppence worth, mind you.

I agree it's hard to take perfect shot in a city, but it's there... That's why I said PERFECT, yours is VERY GOOD, but not PERFECT.

interesting . . . . . . . are you saying that Zeppelin's shot is PERFECT? seeing as you voted for him

no offense to Zeppelin, but his last pic was much brighter than this one and IMO better. his entry this week could have been so much better if it was brighter.

I like it, looks good to me. If it was lighter we would not be able to see smokes.

Wow my pic's stirring up a lot of comments this week. I agree that it could have benefitted from being a little lighter, but I just liked the atmosphere and moodiness created from the darkness- sort of as a contrast from last week's shot of the same subject. Thanks to all those who've voted!

It's hard to get a perfect shot in a city, but if you have an eye for clusters of buildings and angles in the city, one can take fantastic pictures. Take a look at my history in this competition and one could find several good pictures.
