I'm not exactly sure what it's useful for. I mean, with my D40 and the 35mm 1.8, I can pretty much photograph a nigh time street scene with minimal light at ISO 3200. Handheld.

And with a D3s, I'm not sure why you'd want such high ISOs anyway. You probably aren't using a D3s without a 24-70 2.8, 14-24 2.8 or a 70-200 2.8 anyway. ISO 6400 should be more than enough. Unless there's a really cool slow lens, I don't see its use.

But again, I bet Nikon really outdid themselves again. High ISO noise probably has improved again. I'm happy they're not going with the megapixel wars. I won't be printing massive anytime soon.

Like you said, the pro photographer will somehow find a use for it.

I enjoy massively to zoom high-res images though

I just noticed that when I shot in JPEG, the file after resizing and the watermark ends up being considerably larger than if I originally took it in NEF, and then resized, watermarked and JPEGed.

I thought it was weird, that's it.
