Dude... are you rolling on a public road or is this a rig shot. I'm guessing you're rolling. That's a lotta blur for 1/60sec. You had to be doing about 80mph.

Rolling. And I HIGHLY doubt we were doing ~80mph. More like 60mph tops, actually. I'm pretty sure we weren't speeding at all and we were going with the flow of traffic, which in that area is likely below the speed limit. In fact, we got over multiple times to let other people in pickups and stuff pass. Just checked the EXIF again to make sure I got that number right and yeah, 1/60th. Shame it doesn't include mph in there, haha.

Very nice, love the different layers of colours Looks like you had fantastic weather today! I had a very cold evening at a wakeboarding event
Do you notice anything about the extender, except for the obvious changed focal length? weight, smaller apperture, image quality?

I really should stop posting my semi-interesting, snapshot style spots in this contest. This is a whole other legaue

That's pretty good blur for 1/60th. I've done a lot of rolling work and try to keep it around 1/40th.. and that requires 50-60mph to get any sort of decent blur.

Thanks. I've done quite a bit of rolling stuff now and I find that anything 1/100 or under usually will get me enough blur to be happy with as long as the car is relatively close to the camera. Obviously the slower the better, but with these types of shots it's often a chance situation, so I'm always a little nervous about camera shake with a shutter as slow as 1/40th... especially with as rough as some of the roads are around here. Though, like you said, it also depends greatly on the speed of the cars.

And nice submission this week.

Thanks, I appreciate it. And you've definitely had some very nice contributions in the past. Don't stop! I actually try to stay away from posting shots from photo shoots... it's not that I don't think it's "fair", I just like the idea of posting something from somewhere anyone could have been, like event type stuff.

This is my first proper motoring event shooting with this camera, so I can't say for certain that the image quality is different to normal, but f2.8 becomes f4 thanks to the 1.4x. Also the lens sits further away from the body, and it acts as more of a lever so I felt that I had to be more careful to hold strongest on the lens and less so on the camera body.
