I saw the title and imediatly though World OF warcraft....
I don't know what is so amazing.
The jet has a massive amount of weight to shift an only thrust to shift it, no mechanical traction.
The champ car reaches 80% of it's top speed after the first 1/4 whereas the jet is, in car terms, still wheelspinning down the track in first gear at the end of the mile.
1 mile is not that far for a jet.
Let's compare the speed of these monsters after accelerating in full throttle for 1 minute.............Of course the Lola can be faster for the first few seconds, but then it gets left behind by like 50 miles.
EDIT: I wonder if the Veyron can do better. :rolleyes:
