Lol @ SSC, your last attempt wasn't quite good enough? Solution: more hpz!! Well looking good, for people who only look at stats (no matter how unproven they are).
They actually hit 240Mph according to the results on the last test of the Aero TT (which ironically is the only Ultimate model to actually be speed tested as neither the Ultimate or Ultimate Aero actually did one....)

i have more faith in koenigsegg than all the other manufacturers trying to be the fastest.

Still an embarrassment for them as they first claimed that the original SSC could do 250+ and the Aero TT 270-280 or what ever it was... The thing is, I liked the first one but all this hp/top speed chasing has just made the company look silly in my eyes. They are living up to their silly name now.
Personally I'm getting tired of their "solution" and hope I won't see another "new" SSC looking exactly like the previous one only with more HP and a crazier top speed that no one will ever reach. It's played out. Over. Time for something else. I know keeping the same chassis saves them money, but if they'd ask me they're heading in the wrong direction. If they want a challenge why not try to make a car to compete with Corvettes and Vipers? But then again I'm far from their target audience, so they wouldn't ask me. For some people stats are everything.

Well said. I'd rather them try to make something more like a Mosler because those are excellent track cars and I can never get enough of excellent track cars.

Until someone breaks 300mph, stfu imo.
I mean, in your opinions, what sort of person would buy this car?

some gold chained, hairychested gino who will probably try and push the car to its limits on b-grade country road.
I dont mind the back end but those front headlights are seriously bogus

Hello. I've got small question - did anyone from you singed up to the SSC's 250MPH Club? If yes - how the payment looks like? Can it be done via PayPal?
-
Well, well.
Proven once more, if you snooze you looze.
The SSC has just become the officially timed fastest production car in the world peaking 255 mph !!

The boys at the Bugatti Molsheim setup must be kicking their own butts !!
Great to see Am muscle back in the game !
Bug
-
True, but it will be interesting to see if Bugatti responds. The Veyron is, after all, limited to 253Mph, but then again, the SSC did hit 257Mph on 1 run.
-
Uh, why does anyone care? :(
-
-
It's good that the Bugatti has been beaten.
-
What was bughatti's response other than ignoring the whole thing, i bet they are going to come out with an unlimited version
-
Not that simple !
Unlimited is not standard production which is a prerequisite for the challenge.
They've already registered the standard as the challenger.
By the way, Bugatti does not hold any official record as yet so the record that was broken was the Koenigsegg.
Molsheim must be a rather confusing place at the moment !!

Has bugatti even officially broken the record? Or was the bugatti attempt just some crazed driver with a cam corder pointed to the speedo?
The only bugatti run ive seen didnt conform to the rules!!!!!!!!!!!
