It still looks like an insect. Where did Lotus get the idea that "grotesque" is attractive.

S-Sport VX-S kicked squarely in the nuts there.
(VX-S is a 300bhp 3.2-litre V6 engined VX220 with a coupe/ removable hardtop version in the pipeline)

Is there going to be any roadgoing car similar to this?
I want there to be a road car one, and there probably will be.
Lets see how it does on the top gear test track :D.
I love it so much! And I may get a couple of photos on Friday too. :D

you may be the only one on the thread that thinks so.. I love it. :)
WoW
one word: astonishing
I think this closer resembles the Elise GT1 when you think about it. The S1 Exige didnt have a Lotus Sport version .. Race companies did their own custom aero tweaks that complied with regulations. There was however the Motosport Elise .. but that ended out as a body kit addon instead of a new car. There was then the GT1 .. a single unit built for the road for homologation purposes. I think if we do see a road going version of this .. numbers will be small. There is not profit in building a road going version when you consider the expenses involved. The Carbon fibre panels must go, the interior must be re-vamped, a Cat must be fitted. Loads of stuff would have to go into making it a car that is usable on the road. You would also be looking at the weight edging up closer to the 950kg again. And price? The standard Exige is £32k approx. If they make the price too close the standard exige wont sell, if they make it too high, the LS one wont sell. You also have to take in mind the power output would be massively decreased .. the engine isnt made for a lifetime .. its not even made for a whole season. And if you were to include carbon fibre panels .. aftermarket carbon panels for the S1 were about £8k. Id expect the S2 Lotus Sport ones to cost close to £15 minimum because factory parts arent cheap and the S2 is slightly larger.
Basically - this wont be made for the road. And if it is .. 20 units is the extreme maximum.
