Legacy Estate not available here in USA (I think), V50 a bit too pricey. I asked him about the Volvo and he mentioned driving an S40 last year as a rental and that he loved the car, so he might stop by to take a look at a V50.
Cheapest one starts at $31k.
We haven't, but it does fit the description of what he is looking for... I'll mention it.
No, only the Outback is available. Damn shame.

Certainly, but since Saab has been in trouble lately I'm sure you'd be able to get one for much less. At least ask, who knows...

Too bad the new Accord Crosstour is not available with a 4cyl engine. I saw one driving around the other day for the first time and thought it looked pretty slick. It starts at $29.5k.

You actually like the Crosstour?
I think it's horrible. Plus it's 4WD only and not a real wagon.

It's not something that I would drive, but I definitely see my dad in one of those.. if they had a 4cyl FWD in the low 20s it would be perfect.

Why can't all these hatchbacks be lower, smaller and two wheel drive?
Sort of like an A5 Sportback, but without being an Audi.

The point of the height might be a practical aspect here - old people don't like having to step down into a car because their hips cannae take it.

for this purpose I can increase the height of the C5, to make access more comfortable for elderly people (not necessarily excluding myself:)), but of course such a sensible car is not available in the US market:p

I beg to differ.

Well, he went to VW today and drove away in a brand new, fully-equipped, with leather seats and bunch of crap.... Passat Wagon 2.0T. I guess the salesman was good, cause he did go over his original budget and discarded the Jetta.
I just saw the car (at night) so I didn't take any pictures nor checked it out properly, but I must admit that it is a pretty nice ride. Very comfortable, and that new-car-with-leather smell makes Niko happy in his pants.
I'll take some pics + give it a test drive soon.

With over 100hp less than my Z and the same weight he can probably still destroy me.

Yep, it almost feels like his old A6 inside... not quite as luxurious, but almost there.
