Very cool, I came close to buying one of these myself but it was in pretty bad shape and the fuel gauge didn't work. I took a picture though bc i loved the wheels on it.

You got an 80s (a decade you were to filthy to ever touch with your presence) car, with semi-4 spoke (!) wheels, a straight 6, and RWD.
I tip my cap to you. Bring'er to the fair north country in the summer and we can cruise down your favourite street: Bloor.
That cross-America trip is a check off the ol' bucket list too. What did you do to pass the time? Cassette to MP3 to NPR podcasts in your ears? How was the journey? Zenlike?

I had some money saved up from working and I managed to get an early graduation donation or two. I've been looking at Celica Supras for nine months or so now, so it was only a matter of time, and this one was too clean not to jump on.

The wheels are among my favorite part of the car's looks and the engine, though lazy, is smooth and torquier than a [COLOR="White"]OO gauge[/COLOR] diesel-electric locomotive.
As for RWD and the driving impressions I promised above; I took the car out last night before the plows and evil salt came out for some dorifto action and to readjust to driving a car without ABS (the Escort didn't have it, but the Civics do). I believe the car has a lot of caster because on the trip it really tried to follow the inclination of the road, despite tracking very nicely why the road was straight and uncambered. Sliding the car confirmed that, because the it would almost catch the slide by itself. That combined with its front-engineness and suspension made it very predictable and easy to fling around.

Depending on work and the like, I might be down for a cruise to Canadaland this summer.
The first 1,000 miles [to Colorado], I had pretty enough scenery and my dad to keep me occupied. The following 2,000 miles definitely helped confirm my pretentious left-coast suspicions that the interior of the country is pretty dull. I'm still glad to have done it and will try to take my time next time because this Cannonball Run shit isn't for me.
I bought one of those aux-to-cassette things for to play my iMP3s, but my tape deck isn't particularly functional and my speakers work well, but only intermittently, so I will have to do some electronic troubleshooting. Despite being an engineer, electricity is mostly voodoo to me, so I'm ont looking forward to that. The upshot of all that meant that I was in silence (with the exception of the whining diff between 68-74mph) for the final leg of the trip. I tried listening to my oPid through headphones, but I didn't like that because I couldn't hear other cars and such as well, so I stopped doing that after a pretty short time.

Do what i do and only put one ear bud in your right ear. That way you can still hear oncoming traffic and your other ear can pick up sirens or trains or whatever

Expect an '80s 6 cylinder shootout between hellcat and I soon (in my GTV6). We've seen a 280ZX around that might get into it and I'm sure we can find an old BMW 6.

Haha thanks Ferrer. We're out at lunch in both cars and I think I'm a bit quicker off the line, he's spotting me 400 lbs. Not sure in the twisties but as soon as I do shocks, springs, and sway bars I think I'll take that :)

It's an Alfa Romeo with the Alfetta transaxle chasis and the Busso V6.
Improving this set of characteristics is a tough job...
I spoke too soon, he has me off the line.
He has 300cc more, so that's technically cheating.
I have 400 lbs less and more percent weight over the rear tires!
Also a horribly crunchy 2nd gear with no synchros left and I subsequently blew out a chunk of my front driveshaft guibo. So there's that.
