That may be officially, but technically, it still is.
Egg Nog even made a list.
i love that fat lip on the TVR speed12 (rear fender) and hate the front
i hate the back of the mclaren (just the fender) and love the front
strange, isnt it?
I like that too, how it kind of juts out there. Like a nice bottom. Plus the car is really all around a round car and very nicely designed.
mclaren because for over a decade it proved that it was the best super car, that has to mean something.
tvr's were never intended to be put on the market, they did not want just everybody buying there cars, you had to be invited to buy it.

That is 100% untrue.
The speed 12 was a race car that spawned the concept of a road going version, so yes, they intended to put in on the market.
TVR decided during development of the road going version that it wasn't a good idea, so didn't go ahead.
One customer approached the company, and after a lot of haggling, pursuaded TVR to sell them the single road going Speed 12 development car.
TVR has never sold cars "by invitation only" that is a complete fabrication.
What a polite way to put it.

The CCR did 388kmh. The 391kmh for the F1 was recorded on the McLaren equipment, whilst the official timing equipment recorded 386kmh.
