No real surprise to most people I guess although there are still those who believe cars build like tanks are inherently safer.

This video is old, and I'm pretty sure there was serious skepticism raised about the condition of the Bel Air - not just the fact that it did appear to be rusty underneath, and that engine bay looks suspiciously empty to me, as it has done to several other people.

I think the point is that in the case of the Bel Air, the car ends up in the drivers lap. If the engine was indeed not there then the effect would have been probably worse with even more car in the front seat.

The old ones are built to last. :)

I'd still rather have the Bel Air. Parts are cheap, values are going up rather than depreciating, styling is mercifully distinctive, no computers, and girls want to get in it.

I would choose to drive the Bel Air as well.
