red rear turn signals
Just wondering if there are any other people like me.
I just get really irritated by red rear turn signals.
Turn signals that uses the same lamps as brake lights are the worst, but even if they have separate lights they still annoy me.
Used to be mostly American cars that do it, but now more and more European (VW) and Asian (Honda, Infinity, Hyundai) are using red signals... just can't understand why.
It's so much clearer to have a light that's different colour...
When I get my car, this is one of the things I look for... a yellow turn signal...
any thoughts on this?

It's a new design trend I guess. I know how you feel, it gets annoying. Orange turn signals are so much easier to tell from red ones. However, it's not that bad with Japanese cars because they usually separate the turn signals from the brake signals. In some American cars, the turn signal lights are actually the same as the brake signal lights!
How's that for confusion? :D
There's really nothing you can do about it, unless you talk to the styling departments of every major car maker, or they change the safety regulations.

Yeah, I hate when the brake light blinks to function as a turn signal. The Crown Vic cop cars actually have that style of signalling, if they even take time out to signal for their turn. (I've only seen a cop signal for a turn 2 or 3 times where I live)

They're so cool if you see Sam's Eleanor's in action!

Yeah, I remember a couple cars that combine the two, I just couldn't recall the names of any of them. :p

I'm pretty sure the Pontiac Transam uses it's brake lights as turn signals too, remember seeing one back home many years ago. I thought it was a majority of American cars that signalled like that.

Not the AXB though.

I think the current Chevy Cobalt does, actually, when I unlocked/locked it the brake lights appeared to flash and then they stayed on if it was dark at the time.

My friend with the Chevy Colorado would have red blinkers but as it's a requirement for them to be orange in the UK, he managed to get hold of some Colorado lights with an extra white bit above the reverse lights with an orange bulb in the place of what on US spec models is red with a red or white bulb.

But we know how unique that is.

Correction, IS. Picked it up from my dad's friend's house yesterday. Speaking of which, they were prepping an Audi for rally next season. Have pics on my cell phone that I'll upload later because I'm curious as to which Audi it is.

Having trouble finding my USB cable to upload the pics off of my phone but from my 5 minutes of research it looks a lot like the Audi Coupe S2 or Quattro, in red, rally-ready wheels/tires, and a completely gutted interior. It was hard to tell because it was badgeless.
